Type of loft covers

Dormer

This is our most popular type of loft conversion within London. Due to its flat roof, giving the maximum amount of additional space. This type of dormer is built vertically on top of an already existing sloping roof providing extra floor and head space. Add on such are large windows and skylights can provide excellent natural light

Mansard

A mansard loft conversion, is situated to the rear of the property. This conversion has a flat roof, with the back wall sloping inwards. Windows are usually housed within small dormers which extend from the roof to create additional space. Generally built with bricks but can cosmetically changed with tiles hungs.

L Shaped Dormer

L shaped dormer – remarkably similar to the rear dormer with an additional side back. Common on Victorian and Edwardian style properties adding an extra 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.

Hip-to-gable

Most preferred option for semi-detached houses which tends to have a reasonably small internal space. Hip is extended up vertically from ridgeline to create a gable dormer conversion. A smart solution maximising floor and head space.

Velux loft conversion

Velux is a type of window. So a Velux Loft Conversion is also known as roof light Lofts. With this type of conversion the roofline is unaltered and windows flush to the roofline. Great cheaper option to add natural light within the loft.
